Larry Markowitz is Senior Director of Financial Communications, based in NATIONAL’s Montreal office.

Drawing on his background as a business lawyer, Larry advises organizations navigating complex business transactions and crisis situations, helping them communicate clearly, credibly, and with impact when the stakes are high. He works closely with clients to craft messages that resonate with investors, regulators, government decision-makers, and the broader public.

His combination of legal training and communications expertise enables him to bridge the gap between legal strategy and effective public messaging, particularly when organizations face heightened scrutiny. Larry also brings an entrepreneurial perspective to his work, having helped launch several businesses, including an award-winning social enterprise that finances clean energy projects.

Larry is a frequent guest speaker at legal conferences in Canada and internationally. From 2022 to 2025, he hosted SpotlightAIJA, the podcast series presented by AIJA, the International Association of Young Lawyers. He has also taught business law at the university level.

Larry holds bachelor’s degrees in Civil Law, Common Law and Commerce from McGill University. He has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1996.
