Record investment in artificial intelligence

As a global innovation cluster specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), SCALE AI acts as an investment and innovation hub to accelerate the adoption and rapid integration of AI among Canadian SMEs.

NATIONAL joined the supercluster in announcing record funding in the presence of François-Philippe Champagne, Canada's Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry.

In front of nearly 200 people at SCALE AI's offices in Montreal, Minister Champagne unveiled a list of 15 new projects benefiting from a record $117 million investment, demonstrating the acceleration of AI adoption in the manufacturing, retail and agriculture sectors, as well as in the development of innovative AI solutions for businesses.

NATIONAL, with its extensive media relations knowledge and experience with numerous AI clients, coordinated with the SCALE AI team and its partners to hold this press conference to promote this record-breaking investment in the media across Canada.

The day before the press conference, we chose to share the news and give an embargoed interview to The Globe and Mail, Canada's largest national newspaper. This set the tone for the day of the announcement.

On the day of the press conference, we welcomed about 15 media representatives, including journalists and photographers from major media outlets such as Bloomberg, Financial Post, The Canadian Press and La Presse+.

With over 145 mentions, the news made the rounds across Canada in less than 48 hours. Media coverage of this record-breaking round of funding was swift, demonstrating the momentum of the AI ecosystem to accelerate the adoption and commercialization of AI in key Canadian sectors.

The collaborative efforts of the NATIONAL and SCALE AI teams have generated more than 20 million impressions and demonstrated the importance of the SCALE AI cluster to Canada's AI sector and its contribution to the creation of high-skilled jobs and to the efficiency and competitiveness of Canadian companies.
