Chelsea Smyth

Chelsea Smyth is a strategic communications leader who helps organizations position themselves for growth, investment, and influence. She specializes in guiding businesses through critical inflection points—spanning capital fundraising, investor relations, market expansion, and thought leadership—building credibility and visibility with the audiences that matter most.
Chelsea has a proven record of supporting clients in highly regulated industries, including financial services (with a focus on capital markets and wealth), aviation, Crown corporations, grocery, commercial and residential real estate, and Indigenous relations —sectors where reputation management and regulatory navigation are essential. As a trusted advisor to senior executives, she provides counsel that strengthens stakeholder confidence, enhances investor trust, and sharpens market positioning.
Experienced in navigating complex, fast-moving environments, Chelsea has partnered with many of Canada’s most influential organizations—including TD Bank Group, ATB Financial, TELUS, Samsung, Cadillac Fairview, Air Transat, Google Cloud, and Sobeys Inc.—helping them seize opportunities, mitigate risk, and achieve measurable business impact.
Before joining NATIONAL, Chelsea worked at ATB Financial and played a pivotal role in the development of the organization’s first enterprise-wide Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan (TRAP), aligning with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92. Chelsea supported internal and external engagement processes with Indigenous partners, leaders, and communities to help co-create initiatives and commitments that supported long-term reconciliation goals. She provided strategic communications support for executive-level engagement with Indigenous Chiefs and business partners and championed internal advocacy for ATB’s Indigenous Relations strategy across the enterprise through cross-functional collaboration.
Chelsea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, with a major in Public Relations and a minor in International Communications and Marketing.
