NATIONAL Public Relations is deeply saddened to learn the passing of Beth Diamond, former managing partner of NATIONAL’s Calgary office and Board member of AVENIR GLOBAL.

Beth Diamond spent more than 20 years with NATIONAL. Although she retired from her role as managing partner in 2019, she was still acting as a senior advisor with the Firm.

Beth Diamond joined the Firm in 1997 when NATIONAL acquired her agency Diamond Public Relations. She led a strong team of professional consultants in Calgary, and was known as a convener and coalition builder. She had a long, fruitful career in communications, including post-secondary teaching, corporate communications and private consulting in Calgary where she spent her entire career.

Beth Diamond led NATIONAL’s Energy practice and was a trusted advisor to many of Calgary’s senior oil and gas executives. Actively involved in generating ideas on energy policy, she was a driving force behind the creation of the Energy Policy Institute of Canada (EPIC). Under her leadership, NATIONAL’s Calgary office also created and administered the Canadian Centre for Energy Information, which provided objective, unbiased information to Canadian, U.S. and international audiences on the energy industry.

She will be remembered as a kind, authentic and caring person.

We send our thoughts and prayers to Beth and her relatives.
