Good corporate governance and crisis management

Good deeds and good governance are critically important for all not-for-profit organizations. The Institute for Corporate Directors will host an expert panel session in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on February 20, 2019. The session will highlight best practices from business and not-for-profit leaders, including a keynote from Jessie Jollymore, founder of the highly successful social enterprise Hope Blooms.

The keynote will be followed by two panel discussions, including NATIONAL’s Karen White, Senior Director, Issues and Reputation, and Stewart McKelvey’s Grant Machum, Partner, to discuss effective crisis management and risk mitigation for officers and directors of not-for-profit organizations. Participants will gain understanding of the current media landscape and how to manage a crisis through effective stakeholder relations and social media engagement, as well as best practices in risk mitigation to help prevent a crisis from occurring.
