Nick Williams is a Toronto-based communications professional specializing in media relations and external communications strategy development and program management. He has over 10 years of experience in the health and wellness space having supported communications for pharmaceutical companies, consumer health product companies, health charities, and other not-for-profit organizations and initiatives. Recently he led media relations for the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC), a Health Canada-funded organization focused on improving cancer care and outcomes for people in this country, and in his previous role he led external communications activities in Ontario for Medavie Blue Cross, a group and individual health insurance provider.
Nick brings strong experience to his role at NATIONAL having managed communications programs for clients in an agency setting as well as supporting communications operations at a for-profit company and at a federally funded health organization. He has diverse experience in external communications strategy and program development, proactive and reactive media relations, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and issues management. His roles have had him working closely with senior management and Executive teams in responding to media requests and developing organizational statements on challenging issues, such as in 2018 when he supported CPAC’s organizational response to media and external stakeholders during Health Canada’s External Review of the Federally Funded Pan-Canadian Health Organizations. He has been involved in multiple IABC and CPRS award-winning communications campaigns for clients including the Canadian Diabetes Association (now Diabetes Canada), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Canada and CPAC.
