On Monday, May 28th, the Ghislain Dufour Business Forum™ welcomed Mr. Pierre Arcand, Chair of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region and for the Government Administration and Ongoing Program Review.
Minister Arcand reminded Forum members of Quebec’s exceptional economic situation. Not only has the provincial government achieved a balanced budget, but the state of public finances has also made it possible to repay part of our debt – all while generating more than $10 billion in new investments outlined in the Quebec Infrastructure Plan.
Far from satisfied with such results, Minister Arcand believes that we must confidently affirm our desire to strive even further. He believes that Quebec must tackle three goals in order to feed its momentum: diversify our exporting clientele, take advantage of evolutionary online services to make the government operations more efficient, and successfully meet the challenges of artificial intelligence of which Quebec must not only be the cradle to this technology’s development, but also its permanent hub.
