Sarah is a skilled communicator with a solid knowledge of public policy development, stakeholder relations, strategic communications and issues management. She has extensive experience working collaboratively with all three levels of government as well as the private sector.
Prior to joining NATIONAL's Halifax office in early 2012, Sarah worked for a variety of federal Cabinet Ministers including the Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the Minister of International Trade. Most recently, she served as the Director of Policy to the President of the Treasury Board. As Policy Advisor at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Sarah provided policy advice on a variety of free trade agreements and worked hard to promote trade and investment opportunities for Canadian companies. While at the Treasury Board Secretariat, Sarah served as Director of Policy and provided strategic advice to the Minister on how to effectively advance the government’s fiscal restraint agenda. After spending over five years on Parliament Hill, Sarah offers NATIONAL clients her unique perspective on the provincial and federal government policy agendas.
Since joining NATIONAL, Sarah has managed integrated marketing communications campaigns and provided strategic communications counsel to a variety of clients in the natural resources, energy, education and economic development sectors. Sarah provides her clients with sound counsel in the areas of government relations, stakeholder relations, corporate reputation and issues management.
Sarah is a graduate of the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance and a minor in Political Science.
