Megan brings a unique blend of government and private sector work to NATIONAL with over 7 years of public affairs experience.
Prior to joining NATIONAL, Megan led the public affairs team at a small boutique advertising and marketing firm in Ottawa. For the past three years, she developed strategies, narratives and implemented digital and traditional media campaigns across Canada. Her clients ranged from national associations seeking to educate and build awareness of their value proposition, to organizations that sought to move the needle on public opinion and advance policy changes.
Previously, Megan worked for the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and the Minister of International Trade, on parliamentary affairs and issue management. During her time in federal politics she worked on a range of policy files including intellectual property, copyright, and international trade files such as the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). Megan also brings market research and analytics experience from her time at a national market research firm. As part of the public affairs team, she worked on complex public opinion research studies on a wide range of files including telecommunications, healthcare and natural resources. By combining her knowledge of politics and strategy with a commitment to using research and she helps craft narratives that establish successful advocacy strategies and powerful public affairs campaigns.
Megan is an active board member and corporate secretary for the national Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC).
