As Vice President for NATIONAL Public Relations in Vancouver, Matt MacInnis offers clients nearly 15 years of communications and public affairs experience, specializing in corporate communications, public affairs, issues management, strategic planning and writing services.
During his six years with NATIONAL, he’s supported clients to introduce complex new natural resource products and processes to local audiences, developed successful proactive media strategies, provided issues management counsel, and helped clients achieve significant funding and positive policy changes from the provincial government. His clients have included a diverse mix of natural resource companies, the tech industry, retail, nonprofits and the transportation sector.
Matt also experience with public engagement, stakeholder relations and digital communications counsel to clients in areas such as local government, product stewardship and public infrastructure.
Matt brings clients a unique understanding of the provincial government’s operations, having worked for the Premier of British Columbia and four senior cabinet ministers. He was the chief political advisor to the BC Minster of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation during his final assignment in the provincial Legislature. In this role, Matt was closely involved in the development and execution of the province’s economic development strategy and the province’s tourism strategy.
Matt worked for a local newspaper and online media early in his professional career. He grew up in rural Northern Vancouver Island, is a proud Mount Allison University alumni, stays active playing a number of rec sports in his free time.
