Headquartered in Montreal, RES PUBLICA Consulting Group is a holding and management company for leading professional services firms that provide strategic counsel in public relations to a wide range of companies.

Our Montreal team is currently looking for a senior systems administrator. In your role as a networking expert, you will participate in the design, planning, testing, deployment, management and support of increasing larger and complex server implementation, as well as provide technical support to all of our offices.

You have solid organizational skills, including an aptitude for setting priorities and managing the priorities and requirements of several projects at the same time. You have a keen eye for detail and are accustomed to working under pressure. You have a sense of urgency on the job, as well as strong oral and written communications skills. You are comfortable for working with and learning many different products and technologies in a fast paced demanding environment.

Skills and qualifications
 

  • BAC or DEC in computer-related studies
  • 7 + years of relevant experience in network administration within a large enterprise environment
  • A solid understanding of complex network infrastructure with many remote locations (required)
  • Certifications – CCNA Routing and Switching is required, CCNP is an asset
  • VMware 6.5 HA environments
  • Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016
  • Advanced network skillset including Cisco routing, switching, firewall, wireless, DNS, DHCP
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco VOIP and SIP trunk telephony
  • Outstanding analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and respond quickly to provide options and action plans to solve the problem
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience in managing high-availability environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with managers and end users
  • Bilingualism (English and French)

 

Responsibilities
 

  • Install, configure and maintain Cisco switches, routers, wireless networks and firewalls
  • Perform all operational duties associated with the network environments, including VPN access, wireless access, monitoring, network performance management, network security maintenance, VOIP, network-related problem troubleshooting
  • Conduct analysis of opportunities on the possible improvement of existing network infrastructure
  • Support complex application solutions primarily based on Cisco technologies
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for our end users, on average 35% of the time
  • Participate in implementation of networking solutions to support major projects and new initiatives
  • Develop technical documentation and procedures associated with managing the network, network Visio maps, configurations, design, etc.
  • Participate in IT training
  • Provide emergency technical support according to a rotating schedule, 24/7
  • Manage and report on assigned projects, tasks and support cases
  • Able to travel to Canada/USA for special and occasional projects
