Learning & Training Manager

The Learning and Training Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the Firm-wide training curriculum and coordination of the Firm-wide training calendar to support the overall Learning and Training strategy and program across the Firm.
 

Responsibilities include:
 

  • Employee curriculum development – Research and counsel into training methodologies (online, classroom, internal, external experts) in terms of what would work best for employees of NATIONAL and its sister companies at different levels.
     
  • Development and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) – The Firm will be introducing a new platform to host learning products in 2018. This role includes project management of portal identification as it is being developed, supporting the communications plan around the launch and roll out of the LMS, managing the platform and tracking the content, accessibility, engagement, and reports.
     
  • Project management – leading projects that support initiatives aligned with the Learning and Training priorities for the Firm.
     
  • Continuous learning opportunities – development of ongoing connection points for management training programs, helping coordinate the development of new components to the curriculum, etc.
     
  • Assist with ROI measurement – of current initiatives and impact on the organization.
     
  • Additional work could include on-going communications around the Learning and Training program, brainstorming new ways to offer learning and identifying topics and content, as well as best methods of tracking and analyzing success of learning and training opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Responsible for managing learning and training opportunities for employees throughout the Firm
  • Partners with the Talent Working Group, Managing Partners, and others in the researching, planning and developing learning and training programs and products (seeking content, not creating)
  • Assesses and evaluates the quality and consistency of learning and training products
  • Establishes and maintains learning schedule and supports materials by managing projects, information and resources
  • Project manages assessment and potential of 2018 launch of Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in training and development
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and manage time effectively
  • Possesses solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovate
  • Understanding and experience in evolving communications industry and consulting firms an asset
  • Fully bilingual (English and French)


Qualifications:
 

  • 5-7 years of communications experience, training design and documentation experience, including design and development of training programs and documentation formatting in a business environment is an asset
  • Coaching/counseling experience including positive and constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of management and communication skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Writing skills, research skills, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Training/Development, Psychology, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Communications and/or Education, or equivalent work experience
