Internship (Aboriginal Communities Relations)

NATIONAL is seeking a motivated intern to work with its dynamic public affairs’ team in Montreal, to work mainly on mandates related to aboriginal communities.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Supporting the team of consultants in their various projects;
  • Media monitoring;
  • Conducting research and gathering information;
  • Writing and editing documents (memos, summaries);
  • Providing administrative support (coordinating meetings, making appointments, completing time and expense sheets, preparing documents, making photocopies, etc.);
  • Providing support for event organization and pro bono projects.

 

Professional and personal qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or in graduating year in a relevant discipline;
  • Strong interest in First Nations issues;
  • Excellent written French and, ideally, English (bilingualism a major asset);
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to handle several tasks at once and work with a sense of urgency;
  • Independent, ambitious, discreet, responsible, organized and punctual, eager to learn and interested in working in a team;
  • Community involvement an asset;
  • Available for the entire internship period of 15 weeks
