NATIONAL offers the opportunity for new graduates to receive hands-on experience and put classroom theory into practice. Our internships are designed to provide a realistic preview of the day-to-day responsibilities of a consultant in a public relations firm. Interns can, for instance, assist with brainstorming sessions, pitch preparation, creation of press kits, collaboration to the organization of news conferences, event planning and media relations or work on special assignments.
NATIONAL's interns are fully integrated into the practice area they have joined and have access to all team members to ask questions or seek guidance. At NATIONAL, we encourage and value input from every member of the team, and our interns are no different.
NATIONAL encourages candidates to submit their resume and a cover letter indicating preferences for practice areas in which they would like to complete their internship. Each office hosts a limited number of internships each year, and every effort is made to accommodate interns' interests according to the internship availability.
In New York, our AXON office has been partnering with Long Island University’s School of Pharmacy internship program for 6th year doctorate candidates. During their five weeks at AXON, students are fully integrated into the team and work mostly with the Editorial group, as this is a scientific-oriented program.
AXON US also has an open program for interested students most of whom come from a business program, but also communications, biology or chemistry majors. These interns work closely with the Client Services team and assist program managers. They also do research for business pitches or current client work, and help with everything from meeting planning to operations-related work.
