On October 23, the Ghislain Dufour Business Forum welcomed CBC/Radio-Canada’s Hubert T. Lacroix, President and CEO, and Michel Bissonnette, Executive Vice-President of French Services to talk about the impact of the new digital reality on how the Crown Corporation is now communicating with Canadians.
Both guests illustrated the scale of the changes underway, notably by explaining that Netflix has now become a partner to which CBC/Radio-Canada provides content, even though credits for drama series do not appear on screen.
Mr. Lacroix said that CBC/Radio-Canada is now one of the most successful public broadcasters in the world because it has successfully adapted to the digital revolution. So much so that the corporation is actually 30 months ahead of its digital platform targets established in 2014, already reaching 18 million Canadians.
