Holder of a B.Sc. in Communications and Politics from the University of Montreal, Raphaël Melançon began his professional career in major Quebec media, first at TC Transcontinental, and then at TVA network, where he held various positions such as news editor and later as managing editor in the Montreal newsroom. After earning the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA) from HEC Montreal, Raphaël became communications advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, in Ottawa. He also worked for the Senate of Canada’s Communications Directorate before joining NATIONAL’s Public Affairs Group in January 2017.
A skilled writer, Raphaël has been in charge of projects related to public affairs, issues management, media relations as well as digital communications. His past political involvement on the federal, provincial and municipal stages allow him to have a global perspective and an excellent knowledge of the functioning of the various levels of government.
Highly active in his community, he volunteers for numerous non-profit organizations, including as a board member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra’s Young Ambassadors Club.
