This week, NATIONAL’s Jodi Posavad, initiated Nourish Nova Scotia’s Brown Bag Challenge in the Halifax office. By sharing a healthy lunch, the team helps Nova Scotian children and youth eat well, and the money raised stays in Nova Scotia to support food and nutrition programs in schools across the province.

Yesterday, Jodi prepared 50 brown bag lunches filled with healthy treats, such as apples, carrots, and celery sticks—reminding some of her colleagues of the brown bag lunches they used to bring to school themselves. For the main course Jodi cooked gluten free Irish soda bread and delicious potato leek bacon and squash pear soups.

Participating in the Brown Bag Challenge is easy! All you have to do is make a healthy brown bag lunch and donate the money you would normally spend on lunch to Nourish Nova Scotia, and make a healthy lunch for someone special in your life to pass on the Brown Bag Challenge!

Now, where will the Halifax team send their brown bags next?
