Andrew Molson to Co-Chair the 2015 Centraide Campaign

NATIONAL’s involvement with Centraide is part of a long tradition at our Montreal office, and so it is with great pleasure that we share that our chairman Andrew Molson and the president and CEO of METRO Eric R. La Flèche will co-chair the organization’s 2015 campaign to be launched next September.

Centraide’s annual fundraising campaign is one of the largest fund drives in Quebec to break the cycle of poverty and social exclusion. As co-chairs, both men will head up a campaign cabinet composed of some thirty influential executives from the business, institutional and trade union sectors. These volunteers will solicit donations from companies and organizations, while encouraging them to hold workplace campaigns.

“We are all sollicited to support many worthy causes but Centraide has a way of bringing people together that appeals to me,” said Andrew. “It is an organization that I’ve always been proud to support over the years, and it is now a privilege to have the opportunity to give more by acting as co-chair this year.”

Last year, our Montreal team raised more than $58,000 for Centraide, which will help the organization pursue its mission to promote mutual aid, social commitment and self-reliance in order to improve the quality of life of the community, and especially of its neediest members.

About Centraide

Centraide of Greater Montreal supports more than 360 community agencies and projects that work to help youth succeed, take care of the essentials, break social isolation and build caring communities. One in seven people on the Island of Montreal, in Laval and on the South Shore receives assistance from an agency supported by Centraide. Nearly 57,000 volunteers are involved in the agencies in its network and another 22,000 help organize its annual campaign.
