In a piece published in today’s edition of La Presse, Yvan Loubier, Senior Consultant and Economist from NATIONAL’s Quebec City office, welcomes with great enthusiasm the creation of Resources Quebec, a new government branch that will invest public money in mining, oil and gas initiatives and will become some sort of a one-stop shop for companies wishing to get the government’s support or participation in several projects. "The Quebec government’s new budget highlights the scope of opportunities that the Plan Nord has the potential to bring to the province and its people," added the author.

With massive investments in the natural-resources sector, the budget tabled yesterday by Quebec Finance Minister Raymond Bachand is certainly great news for the Plan Nord and other economic development projects in the mining, oil, gas and forestry sectors.
