In a piece published in today’s edition of La Presse, Yvan Loubier, Senior Consultant and Economist from NATIONAL’s Quebec City office, is pleased that the federal budget tabled yesterday by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty reflects the government's willingness to support the development of the natural resources sector, particularly in Quebec.

Although the document clearly expresses that the Harper government’s top priority is to achieve a balanced budget in 2014-15, it also demonstrates the importance of long-term investments in various sectors, namely regarding Canadian manufacturing firms’ productivity.
