Facing up to the Social Media Challenge in the Healthcare World

In a recent article posted on BlogActiv, Sam Barnes, Director, Head of PR at AXON UK, explains how the new Facebook policies will affect the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Companies will no longer be able to use Facebook simply as a broadcast channel for messages about their business and different diseases; they will either have to interact with the public or withdraw from the platform completely.

As healthcare and pharmaceutical companies try to adapt to all these changes, it will be interesting to see what their longer-term strategy will be for delving into the world of social media and two-way communication with the public while protecting their reputations.
