In an article published in the December 19, 2011 issue of La Presse, Yvan Loubier, Senior Consultant and Economist from NATIONAL’s Quebec City office, says that in a time when the world only seems to have eyes for problems of an economic nature, hunger keeps afflicting a billion people on a daily basis.
There are solutions to this global human tragedy, but to be effective, they need to be applied. And for that to happen, these solutions must result from a real political will and engagement. This is the key to long-term change. And if nothing changes now, the scourge of today will be nothing compared to the affliction of tomorrow. In this holiday season, we can only hope that 2012 will be a year of increased awareness and action in this regard.
