Darran leads the Madano Transport practice, and leads the company’s cross-sector work on sustainable development.
Darran’s work is focused on helping organisations maximise the benefits from the many opportunities and challenges in transport, which include new technology, air-quality, decarbonisation, vehicle electrification, fleet optimisation and transport access. The sustainable-development issues around minimising environmental impacts while enabling societal and economic benefits extend beyond transport to Madano’s other practice areas – energy, built environment and healthcare.
Before joining Madano Darran was International Director for the Carbon Trust and Managing Director of Carbon Trust Certification. Prior to joining the Carbon Trust Darran was Vice President Fuel Development for Royal Dutch Shell, and held a variety of roles in Shell in the UK and internationally, including responsibilities for fuel sales to transport fleets and fuel development with motor manufacturers.
Beyond Madano Darran is Chairman of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, a public-private membership and working group sponsored by the UK Department for Transport, where he has served as a Board Director since 2005. He is also Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
