Katharine (Kate) joined AXON Communications, London, UK, in January 2015. After more than eight years working in the field of cancer research and clinical trials, and a brief year teaching Oncology at Kingston University, she moved into med comms 3 years ago.Kate has worked with a number of pharmaceutical clients, including Amgen, BMS, Gilead, Grünenthal, Kedrion, Mundipharma, Nordic, Otsuka and Shire Movetis, contributing to a variety of scientific, technical and strategic materials in a broad range of disease areas. She has experience working in the areas of oncology, HIV, anti-infectives and chronic kidney disease, and has specialist knowledge in the area of neuro-oncology.
Kate received her doctorate in Neuro-oncology from the University of Portsmouth, and was able to continue her clinical oncology research with a grant from the Skin Cancer Research Fund. She has published a number of peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters to The Cancer Handbook (John Wiley) and Principles of Cancer Cell Culture (Springer).
